Message from Jack Adams in wake of breaking news.
Hi Mary
Anyone wishing to apply to Guinness World Records for world record status for any end to end journey, must do so through the Lands End John o' Groats Association, providing evidence of their journey. The Association can supply journey verification forms that MUST be completed on a daily basis, plus receipts to back up their claim will be required.
Unlike other organisations the LEJOG Association will only issue membership and certificates when satisfactory proof of a journey has been received and verified, and only then will the application be approved for the GWR who have the final say on the matter. It is up to the individual to apply to GWR who in turn will request verification from the Association.
Regards
Jack
