Would Your Power Wheelchair Manufactor?
Would your power wheelchair supplier put one of their range on the line like Gerald-simonds are doing with the Alber adventure and allow me to drive it from Lands End to John O’Groats in the full view of the world?
Both the designer and the supplier of the Alber Adventure have enough confidence in their product to let me put it to one of the altermate tests, drive it from Lands End to John O’Groats at a gruelling average mileage of 30 miles per day and an average speed of about 4.50 to 5 mph. That means that Alber and I will be travelling the highways and byways of the UK for 6 hrs per day, for 26 days, I will need two days off I just hope that both of us are up for the task. With the support team that is now coming together, despite what Arthritis Care may think, and with no support from them, I am sure that with a bit of good luck, a fair wind, on 29th June 08 at 1400 hrs Alber and myself will cross the finishing line at John O’Groats.
